Our local planetarium and observatory is a true asset. It boasts one of the largest public telescopes in Florida – a 24” Ritchey-Chretien reflector – and is open on scheduled weekdays and every weekend, weather permitting. Visitors can zoom in on individual stars or zoom out to entire galaxies and experience all the majestic wonders of space.

The planetarium has over 200 seats with a 70-foot dome hemisphere. Multiple projectors and lasers generate awesome effects across several unique programs. You will find multi-media programs that include the traditional night skies and planets, as well as music media and laser shows of famous groups like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and others.

They also have a small theater with entertaining educational films that you may not find anywhere else. Check out their great schedule page on their website for more information and details.

The Brevard planetarium has been a great local attraction for a long time. Located at Eastern Florida State College, previously known as Brevard Community College, it sits in the back corner of the campus with ample and easy access parking. Make sure that the parking is for visitors and does not require a parking permit. The campus security tends to get a little generous with parking tickets.
