Best Burgers on the Space Coast

What would we do without the American Burger? They are served just about everywhere and in many different styles, and yes, flavors.

Living on the Space Coast for much of my life, I have narrowed down my list of restaurants that I go to for a particular food.  When it comes to best burgers, I have two places that I frequent, knowing that if I try one elsewhere, I will be sorely disappointed.

Shark Pit Bar & Grill

The first place, which is in the 520 Causeway and A1A crossroads of Cocoa Beach, is Shark Pit Bar & Grill. If you’re staying in the Port Canaveral or Cocoa Beach area, this is a great place to launch into a true delight. You’ll find it in the Cocoa Beach Surf Company complex next to Starbucks. By the way, their waffle fries are great two.

Wonder where they got the name? Shark Pit is located south of Melbourne Beach. It is a famous surf break that we locals have surfed, beginning in the 60’s. I have personally enjoyed many fantastic days of surfing sessions there over the years.  And yes, the name implies “Sharks!” and it is one of their hangouts.

Murdock’s Southern Bistro & Bar

My second choice is a place is Murdock’s. If your enjoying a day at Cocoa Village and your animal nature is craving beef, then this will tame the tiger. My favorite times of year to enjoy this treat are spring and fall. The weather is generally cooler and I love to sit outdoors in the shade of the trees and enjoy my feast.
